Families Together

This is a home visiting scheme, which has proved very successful in reaching the harder-to-reach families who would not enrol on a course in school.

Families Together aims to develop a working partnership between home and school, building the enthusiasm and skills of parents so they can start to support their child’s/children’s learning at home. Project workers use a variety of books and games to model activities to show that reading and learning can be fun!

Each family receives 6 x 1-hour visits from a Nursery Nurse or Teaching Assistant who has been specially selected for this role from the nursery or school staff. A member of the FL Team provides on-going training and support.

Length of course: 6 hours (6 x 1 hour)
Target group: Adults and children aged 3+
