Youth Offending Service - Prevention Team

Young People
Welcome to the Prevention Team, part of the Youth Offending Service in West Sussex. Our team works proactively across the county putting into place positive intervention and activities for young people at risk of offending. We also assist our school communities with conflict resolution through Restorative Justice.

Our team includes:
  • Head of Prevention Services
  • 4 Youth Crime Prevention Officers
  • 2 Special Projects Officers
  • 1 Sports and Activities Coordinator
  • 1 Restorative Justice Officer in Schools
We work in partnership with Schools, Pupil Referral Units, the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour Teams, District Councils, Youth Clubs, Joint Access Teams, ISDA 'Test-beds' and Local Action Teams to ensure that young people at risk are identified and their needs are met with appropriate intervention. This multi-agency approach provides a widespread opportunity for referrals from all, building a sustainable network of support and expertise. The 'Parenting Project' also provides further assistance and solution focused guidance for parents.
