The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is statutory from September 2008. The EYFS brings together the Birth to Three Matters
framework, the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage and the National Standards into one framework. The principles
from these frameworks underpin the integrated play-based approach of the EYFS, which supports settings working with children
from birth to the end of the Foundation Stage.
