Creativity in Primary Languages

These six projects succeeded in delivering French for at least one hour per week throughout the Spring term of 2007, by linking the learning of a foreign language to other areas of the curriculum. Pupils involved came from Years 2-6. The projects included:

  • Empires and Eruptions (a study of Vesuvius and the Romans) - Les Empires et les Eruptions
  • The Hidden Forest (underwater world) - La Forêt Cachée
  • Paris, City of Light - Paris, Cité de la Lumière
  • Journey into the Unknown (space) - Voyage dans l'inconnu
  • Who are you, Mr Wolf? - Qui es-tu, Monsieur Loup?
  • Lost Worlds (prehistory) - Les Mondes Perdus

Materials here include medium term plans for the term, short term lesson plans and most materials. For further information, please contact Elaine Minett, Advisory Teacher for Primary Modern Languages: elaine.minett@westsussex.gov.uk
