Religious Education

display of RE work within a school

Religious education is well supported in West Sussex through the work of the RE advisory team. In addition, the West Sussex Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) meets three times a year in order to advise the local authority and keep a watching brief on RE and collective worship in schools. The SACRE comprises county councillors, teachers and faith community representatives.

The West Sussex Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2003 specifies what should be taught in schools.
