CYPS: Educational Inclusion Group
This group of Advisers provides support for all the strategies recognised within Educational Inclusion:
- Constructing an Educational Inclusion Register;
- Writing and implementing a policy for Special Educational Needs and/or Educational Inclusion;
- Using Raiseonline data and FFT data to inform policy and practice;
- Intervention strategies for Secondary school SEN Departments;
- Wave 3 Literacy strand of the Primary National Strategy;
- Provision mapping;
- Understanding and using the SEN/AEN Funding;
- Writing and implementing a Behaviour Management Policy;
- Setting up and running a Learning Support Unit;
- Strategies for differentiation;
- Advice and guidance to Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators and/or Inclusion Co-ordinators (SENCos) and Special Educational Needs Departments;
- Monitoring visits for SENCOs;
- Monitoring visits to SSCs;
- Supporting/evaluating/moderating school self-evaluation of SEN and/or Inclusion using the WSCC school self evaluation materials for SEN and Inclusion;
- Continuing Professional Development for Teaching Assistants;
- 11-19 Flexible Curriculum;
- Work related learning;
- Vocational qualifications;
- Work experience;
- PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education);
- Healthy Schools;
- Schools working with the Community;
- Tutor time;
- Support for Pastoral leaders;
- Outdoor Education.
Summary of the services provided:
- Continuing Professional Development for staff and / or governors, eg INSET, coaching, mentoring;
- School based projects (school improvement);
- Supporting school self-evaluation;
- Monitoring visits;
- Consultation and / or advice.

- Pre-school settings (Voluntary / private sectors);
- West Sussex Nursery Schools and Schools with nursery classes;
- West Sussex First, Primary, Junior and Middle Schools, including those with Special Support Centres;
- West Sussex Secondary Schools, including those with Special Support Centres;
- West Sussex Special Schools;
- West Sussex Pupil Referral Units;
- Other schools or settings educating West Sussex pupils.
