If you will qualify in 2009, or you qualified in 2008 and are still available, you may apply to the NQT Register.
The Register lists final-year students who are looking for jobs in West Sussex and goes live to schools each year in January, although you may apply from December onwards. Click on the link below for 'NQT Register' to open and complete the online form.
Points to note:
- Headteachers access your details on a secure password protected website and contact you directly to discuss any vacancies.
- If the General Teaching Council for England will award you full English QTS before April 2009 you may use this Register to apply for posts available before September.
- The Register is a secure password-protected site that only Headteachers and Lead Admin staff can access. This data will be stored electronically in order to process your registration and make your details available to schools and for statistical/research purposes.
- If you have not yet completed a teaching practice, fill in as much of the form as possible and email us a complete revised form when you have completed your first practice. We will then replace your first application form with the second one. Additional information sent as part of an email cannot be added to forms on your behalf.
- Registration does not guarantee a post for next September.
- Applying for the Register does not oblige you to take up any post offered through the scheme, or to work in West Sussex. You are free to apply for and accept any other post.
- When you are offered a post, please email us at cyps.teacher.recruitment@westsussex.gov.uk telling us the name of the school (or if it is outside of West Sussex just the Local Authority) and we will remove your details from the current website at the next upload. However, schools using an old list may continue to contact you.
