The capital of the historic High Weald, East Grinstead is an ancient market town with a wealth of architectural heritage.
Surrounded by some of the finest countryside in the whole of the South East of England. This is where the River Medway rises
and the vast swathes of Ashdown Forest begin.
East Grinstead has many local beauty spots and attractions within easy reach, such as Winnie the Pooh country and the Bluebell Vintage Steam Railway. The town also has some interesting historic sites including Sackville college, where the Christmas carol "Good King Wenceslas" was written.
Despite being close to Crawley and the M23 and M25 motorways, East Grinstead has retained its own identity as a quiet and pleasant town, with friendly locals and a good community spirit and offers a variety of shops, clubs, pubs and restaurants.
