Welcome to the Extended Schools Finance area of the WSGfL. These pages offer specialist financial advice for schools who
are interested in directly providing extended school activities. Schools who are considering alternative models of delivery,
such as working in partnership with a third party provider or setting up a school company, can find further information on
Extended Schools area of the WSGfL. The Extended Schools site also offers useful non-financial information that may be of
interest to schools, such as details of the types of extended services that schools might offer and guidance on the various
health and safety, human resources and legal implications of extended schools.
This area is divided into two sections.
The Extended Schools Financial Guidance section contains a number of documents advising schools on the various financial implications
of offering an extended facility, such as potential funding arrangements, what extended facilities may be charged for and
how extended facility finances should be managed and accounted for. The second section is titled Extended Schools Financial
Planning. This section contains a financial planning template, which schools are asked to complete as part of the extended
school approval process.
