The key governing documents which regulate finance management in schools (The Regulating Documents)
are set out below. These documents are designed to strike the right balance between giving schools the freedom to exercise
their delegated responsibilities and maintaining proper accountability and control over public funds.
The governing
body is responsible for ensuring all business is conducted in accordance with the Regulating Documents.
These
Regulating Documents are kept under regular review to ensure that they continue to strike the right balance and that they
include any changes in legislation regarding school financial management e.g. Consistent Financial Reporting.
