Childcare Provision

The Children's Information Service is run by West Sussex County Council. We offer free, confidential, impartial, up-to-date information on all aspects of childcare for children aged 0-14 (16 for those with additional support needs).

We can answer questions on:

  • Additional funding for the cost of childcare
  • What is Free Entitlement (Early Years provision) funding and how is it paid?
  • Which Childminders in your area have a vacancy?
  • How to find the nearest Playgroup or Nursery?
  • What out of school clubs are available near you?
  • Information on how to choose good quality childcare.
  • What opportunities are there for children with additional support needs?
  • How to complain about a childcare provider.
  • Services available for families, children and young people.
  • How to get started in a Career in Childcare?

We endeavour to answer all enquiries within 24 hours and treat all enquiries in confidence unless an issue of child protection arises.
