In West Sussex we take pride in ensuring that newly qualified teachers working in our schools make the journey through their induction year with support and guidance which leads them to move positively into a successful teaching career.
Induction is not something that is done to an NQT, but an experience that is an interactive process. The local authority and the schools in West Sussex work together to provide an induction programme that allows the NQT to take a confident proactive role in building a strong foundation for their future success in teaching. In West Sussex we expect our newly qualified teachers to make the most of their induction period as it is an experience that is unique.
